About Us

         The Indian Institute of Space Science & Technology (IIST) located at Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala is a deemed to be university offering programs at the undergraduate, graduate,doctoral and post-doctoral levels in areas of space sciences, space technology and space applications. IIST functions as an autonomous body under the Department of Space, Government of India.

         Department of Earth & Space Sciences of IIST has a full-fledged academic program in Astronomy & Astrophysics with six faculty members involved in research activities across the spectrum of contemporary astrophysics.
