How to reach IIST ?
IIST Campus is located in Valiamala, near Nedumangad, in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. You may reach IIST, traveling about 18 km by road from Thiruvananthapuram Railway Station / Bus Terminal. IIST is located about 30km away from Thiruvananthapuram Airport. Click here to see Road Route Map to IIST.

Information for students selected for participation in the Winter School
• Winter School will commence on 3-Dec-2012, and ends on 12-Dec-2012.
• The winter school will be conducted in the IIST campus at Valiamala.
• Accommodation for participants will be arranged at the student-hostels in IIST.
• There is no registration fee for the winter school.
• Food and accommodation will be provided free of cost to the participants.
• Participants may plan to arrive in IIST by 1st/2nd December. Participants arriving late (on or after 3rd December) are liable to be disqualified from attending the winter school.
• Local hospitality (including food and accommodation) will be provided only from 1st-13th December.
• Local hospitality is restricted to the participants of winter school.
• Travel expenses shall be reimbursed for onward and return Train Journey of participants by A/C 3 Tier via the shortest route. Original journey-tickets shall be submitted to claim reimbursement.
• The nearest railway station is Trivandrum Central (IRCTC code: TVC). If you are planning to arrive by bus, please disembark at the Bus Terminus located at Thampanoor, adjacent to the Railway Station.
• Once you book your tickets, please inform us by email of your travel plans. IIST will provide bus-service from pick-up points near the railway station / bus terminal to IIST.
• Please carry a valid photo-identification card with you at all times.
• A certificate of participation will be provided at the end of the winter school
• IIST has a 24-hour health-centre located within the campus.
