Linearized Flow: subsonic flow –Goethert’s and Prandtl-Glauert rules – hodograph methods – supersonic flow – supersonic thinairfoils – 2-D airfoils – method of characteristics, the compatibility equation – applications, su-personic nozzle design – generalised one-dimensional flow: working equations – influence co-efficients – combined friction and heat transfer – combined friction and area change – conditionsat sonic point – transonic flow – measurements in compressible flows.
