6th Edition 9th & 10th April 2016
IIST Model United Nations (MUN 2016) is back with its sixth edition, scheduled to be held on 9th and 10th April, 2016. This edition features two councils, the UN General Assembly (UNGA) and the UN Human Rights Commission (UNHRC) with agendas that will take eloquent debating by over 80 participants from around the country (with a majority from prominent MUNing circuits) to resolve. Prof. J Prabhash, former Vice Chancellor and present Head of Department of Political Science, University of Kerala has kindly consented to be the Chief Guest for the event.
United Nations General Assembly:This demanding Council makes delegates rethink about the current ongoing political issues which have deep moral undertones and huge impacts for generations to come.
1. Formulating guidelines to combat cyber and other forms of international espionage.
2. International cooperation for strengthening host countries in light of the refugee crisis.
United Nations Human Rights Council:
This special Assembly requires delegates to delve into the grey and turbulent depths of human rights and solve the some of the most pressing challenges faced by our leaders.
1. Establishing guidelines to ensure the upholding of child rights in war-torn areas.
2. Protecting rights of individuals granted political asylum.
