Aditya-L1, India’s first space solar observatory, is also India’s first mission to the L1 Lagrange point. The seven payloads onboard Aditya L1, all developed indigenously, offer astronomers a comprehensive toolkit for studying the Sun's behavior across a wide range of energies. The data from these payloads is going to help advance our understanding of solar physics, space weather dynamics, and their implications for space exploration and technology. The workshop, jointly organized by IIST and the Space Physics Laboratory / VSSC, will offer a comprehensive overview of the fundamentals of heliophysics, the Sun’s impact on space weather, and the mission's objectives. The workshop's purpose is to introduce post-graduate and advanced undergraduate students to research prospects in solar physics in the years ahead.
Through a series of engaging sessions, participants will explore the following themes:
Students from any one of the following backgrounds are eligible to apply for the school
As the number of seats for the workshop is limited, we may not be in a position to consider applications from students who do not belong to one of the above categories.
