Dr. Vsevolod Peysakhovich, Associate Professor in Neuroergonomics and Human Factors at the Institut Supérieur de l'Aéronautique et de l'Espace (ISAE-SUPAERO), Toulouse, France, visited IIST on 13 August 2025. During his visit, Dr. Peysakhovich delivered a talk titled “From the Lab to the Real World: Human Monitoring Research for Aerospace Applications.”

His presentation highlighted the critical role of human monitoring in aviation and space operations, emphasizing the challenges posed by complex systems and high cognitive demands. Drawing from his research, he shared case studies involving eye tracking, neurophysiology, and cognitive science to enhance human performance in various contexts, including flight decks, simulators, underwater habitats, and lunar mission analogs. The projects showcased innovations in pilot training, teleoperation in dynamic environments, bio-monitoring in extreme conditions, and the integration of eye tracking into operational tools, illustrating how theoretical concepts are being translated into practical aerospace applications.

Following the lecture, Dr. Peysakhovich toured Heat Transfer Laboratory, observed ongoing research activities, and interacted with students. He provided valuable feedback on their projects, discussed potential improvements, and exchanged ideas on future research collaborations. IIST also explored opportunities for collaboration with Dr. Peysakhovich, particularly in integrating BRAIM cerebrovascular hemodynamics research and advanced thermoregulation modeling into ISAE SUPAERO’s ongoing astronaut cognition, microgravity, and thermal stress simulation projects. He is also serving as the ISAE collaborator, alongside Dr. Shine S R of IIST, in the joint IIST–ISAE project ThermoFit: Subject-Specific Thermal Climate Indices for India and France.

His visit fostered a rich exchange of knowledge and perspectives, inspiring both faculty and students to explore new directions in human factors and neuroergonomics research.
