M. Tech. in Power Electronics

M.Tech in Power Electronics is a 2-year postgraduate program focused on advanced studies in the design, analysis, modelling, and control of power electronic systems. The courses included in this program cover Advanced Switched Mode Power Converters (AC-DC, DC-DC, DC-AC), Power Semiconductor Devices, Grid-Connected Systems, Control of Electric Drives and Digital Signal Processing (DSP) for Power Electronics, and Embedded Systems in Power Electronics, among others. These are designed to impart the necessary skills to work in areas such as renewable energy, electric vehicles (EVs), space systems, industrial automation, robotics, and power systems.Extensive laboratory sessions are provided to develop practical skills in designing and testing power electronic circuits and controlling electric drives. The laboratories are also equipped with simulation tools such as MATLAB/Simulink, PLECS, ANSYS, and PSPICE.Final-year research projects are offered in specialized areas such as powertrains for electric aircraft, space applications, solid-state transformers, multiphase drives, axial flux machine drives, smart grids, high-frequency converters, and AI/ML applications in power electronic systems.
