Cold atom quantum simulations and thermalisation physics of synthetic quantum matter: importance ranging from condensed matter to quantum gravity
The seminar was on the simulation of strongly correlated matter using cold atoms, which has broad applicability ranging from condensed matter to high-energy physics. In particular, it discussed the simulation of quantum criticality in certain condensed matter systems. It also touched upon exploring quantum gravity via the simulation of the celebrated Sachdev-Ye-Kitaev model.
