The Department of Physics at the Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST) is organizing a two-day conference on Optical Materials and Fabrication for Space Applications (OMF) on 16 and 17 December 2026.  

The Department has established strong research expertise in applied optics, condensed matter and solid-state physics, atomic and molecular physics, and emerging areas of quantum technology. Building on this foundation, the conference aims to provide a platform for scientific exchange, interdisciplinary collaboration, and the advancement of technologies critical to future space missions.

The two-day meeting will bring together leading scientists, academicians, researchers, and students from premier institutes, universities, and research organizations across the country to exchange ideas and discuss recent advances in optical systems, materials development, and optical fabrication techniques relevant to space applications.
