As part of the National Space Day 2026 celebrations, IIST organised its second Open House Programme on 19 August 2026, welcoming 95 students from Saraswathi Vidyalaya. The students interacted with Prof. Kuruvilla Joseph, Pro-Vice-Chancellor, IIST, in the presence of Dr. Sandhya K. Y., Associate Dean – Outreach Activities; Dr. K. G. Sreejalekshmi. They visited the SSPACE, Satellite Ground Station, and Astronomical Observatory, and interacted with faculty members, research scholars, and students. The programme also featured science demonstrations by IIST students, providing participants with first-hand exposure to the Institute’s academic, research, and technological activities.
