A Line Left in the Margin: The Social Life of Images in Kerala is a research-led archival exhibition curated by Amalu Shaji, Research Scholar, Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST), as part of her doctoral research. Supported by the Kerala Lalithakala Akademi, the exhibition explores the relationship between images, art writing, archives and spectatorship in Kerala.

The exhibition features 13 projects by artists and researchers working across different media and approaches. These include archival displays, artistic interventions, documentary screenings, performances, discussions, and research-based exhibits, including a presentation by Seetha P., Research Scholar, Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, on her doctoral work on Kummatti. The exhibition examines questions of identity, gender, labour, memory and historiography and creates a space for conversations between academic research, artistic practice and public engagement.
