National Space Day - Student Symposium at IIST

As part of National Space Day 2025 and National Remote Sensing Day, IIST hosted a vibrant Student Ideathon Symposium on “Space Vision 2047 & Beyond” on 18 August 2025, proudly supported by IEEE GRSS and held in association with LPSC, ISRO.

A total of 16 teams from B.Tech, M.Tech, and Dual Degree programs presented innovative ideas on Next-Generation Space Technology and Space 4 Earth. The symposium was conducted across two venues – the Council Hall and the Conference Hall, Aerospace Block.

The judging panel featured experts from LPSC along with IIST faculty members.

The prize distribution was held on 20 August 2025, presided over by the Pro-Vice Chancellor and Registrar, Prof. Kuruvilla Joseph. Cash awards were presented to the First Prize winner, Runner-Up, and two Best Presentations among First-Year students.

The event celebrated creativity, collaboration, and forward-looking ideas in space science. It brought together young innovators and space professionals to envision India’s journey towards 2047 & beyond.
