Onaswaram 2025

The spirit of Onam lit up the campus with joy, unity, and tradition on 3rd September.

The festivities began at 9 AM with the auspicious lamp lighting led by Prof. Dipankar Banerjee, Vice Chancellor, marking the official start of Onaswaram - 2025. Even before that, the beats of Chendamelam, the vibrantPulikali, and the creative spirit of Pookalam designing set the campus alive with energy. The rhythmic Chendamelam and Pulikali procession and Maveli roamed around the campus that truly brought the festive vibe, spreading excitement everywhere.

The celebrations continued with flash mobs and a lively drama at the Aerospace Block entrance, filling the morning with enthusiasm and cheer. The campus buzzed with excitement as students showcased different cultural dance forms in front of the Aerospace building. Soon after, the IIST community welcomed our esteemed guest, Shri. Soorya Krishnamoorthy, with a traditional procession, followed by the grand theme banner release of Onaswaram – 2025.

The stage at the OAT then came alive with cultural programs showcasing talent, tradition, and togetherness, along with an inspiring guest address. By noon, the much- awaited Onasadya was served — a feast that brought everyone together over flavours of tradition and joy. 

Post-Sadya, the excitement grew with a vibrant lineup of cultural performances and the thrill of Onam games like Uriyadi and Tug of War. The highlight was the electrifying Tug of War between CISF IIST and CISF LPSC teams, a true test of strength, spirit, and sportsmanship!

The entire day reflected the essence of Onam — harmony, happiness, and heritage. Onaswaram 2025 will be remembered as a celebration that brought every heart together in the rhythm of Kerala’s most cherished festival.
