One day workshop on “Signal Processing for Biomedical Signals”
A one-day workshop on “Signal Processing for Biomedical Signals” was successfully organized as part of the SERB-Scientific Social Responsibility (SSR) initiative on 21st February, 2026 under the SERB project titled, “Applications of fractional order calculus to biomedical signal processing (CRG/2022/003441)”. The workshop featured expert lectures from distinguished faculty members of IIT and IIST. The sessions covered key themes including “Biomedical Signal Processing: Recent Advances and Future Directions”, highlighting emerging trends and research challenges in healthcare technologies. A talk on “Impacting Healthcare with Collaborative Technological Innovations” emphasized interdisciplinary approaches and translational research. Technical sessions on Vector Space Methods for Biomedical Signal Processing, Optimization Techniques, and Pre-processing Methods in biomedical signals provided strong theoretical foundations along with practical insights. The workshop facilitated meaningful academic interaction and enhanced participants’ understanding of advanced signal analysis techniques for real-world healthcare applications. A total of 35 students and research scholars actively participated in the program. Over all, the program contributed significantly to strengthening research capacity in biomedical signal processing under the SERB-SSR framework.
