Ph.D Viva voce (Open Defence)
The Ph.D. open denfense/viva-voce examination of Ms. Aiswarya Samridh was conducted on 16 April 2026 at 2.00pm in the presence of the duly constituted examination committee in Dean R&D conference Hall.
The proceedings commenced with a brief introduction by the Prof. Gomathi, Chairperson, followed by a presentation by the candidate on her research work titled “Sustainable binder for Silicon Anodes in Next Generation Lithium-ion batteries” The candidate presented the objectives, methodology, results, and key findings of her research. The open defence was attended by around 50 participants, including students and faculty members.
The External Examiner and attendees posed questions to assess the depth of her understanding and originality of the work. The candidate responded to all queries satisfactorily and demonstrated a strong command over the subject.
The examiners appreciated the quality of the research work and offered constructive suggestions for further improvement and future research directions.
Based on the performance of the candidate during the viva-voce examination and the reports of the thesis examiners, the committee unanimously recommended that Ms. Aiswarya Samridh be awarded the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Chemistry.
The viva-voce examination concluded with a vote of thanks by the Supervisor Prof J. Mary Gladis.
