The 77th Republic Day was celebrated in IIST with great pride and patriotic fervour. Students, faculty, staff, CISF and family members participated in the celebration. The event commenced with the unfurling of the National Flag by Prof. Dipankar Banerjee Vice Chancellor, IIST, followed by the National Anthem. The Vice Chancellor then proceeded to inspect the Guard of Honour, a display of CISF and NCC. In his Republic Day message, Prof. Banerjee lauded the collective efforts of the IIST fraternity, specifically highlighting the achievement of securing NAAC A++ status. While celebrating this milestone, he emphasized that the institute must not rest on its laurels but continue its ascent toward even greater academic and research heights. He briefly touched on academic achievements, the introduction of new course, and collaboration with industry and other institutions. He mentioned the dynamic changes in the space domain and the opportunities for students to work toward Vikasit Bharat. The CISF commando team presented a captivating demonstration reflecting the professionalism and courage of the security force. Vice Chancellor presented prizes to the winners of Hindi competitions and various programmes organised for the kids of CISF personnel.  As part of the celebration, IIST students organised cultural programmes in the Student Activity Centre, adding vibrancy to the celebration. The event concluded with a gathering over refreshments, reinforcing the bonds of the IIST community.
