IIST hosted a Science and Technology Exposure Visit for 81 Grade XI students and 4 teachers from Shanthi Niketan School, Kunnumpuram on 28 October 2026.

The students were taken on guided visits to the Satellite Ground Station, SSPACE Lab, Astronomy Observatory Lab and Geology Lab. The programme also included an interaction with the Vice-Chancellor of IIST, Prof Dipankar Banerjee.

The visit provided students with an opportunity to gain first-hand exposure to scientific research, space technology and the academic facilities at IIST, encouraging their interest in STEM education and future careers in science and technology.
