A 12-member media delegation from Manipur visited IIST on 25th February 2026, facilitated by PIB, Thiruvananthapuram. Prof. Kuruvilla Jospeh, Pro Vice Chancellor, IIST, received the delegation. He delivered a presentation outlining the IIST academic framework, research priorities, and strategic contribution to India’s space missions. Prof. A. Chandrasekar, Dr Jinesh, and Dr Anand Narayanan joined him in the discussions. As part of the visit, the media delegation visited the labs and research facilities of the institute and interacted with the faculty and research scholars about the ongoing projects and experimental setup. The delegation was briefed on how modern infrastructure enables mission-oriented research aligned with national space objectives, and on collaboration between IIST with premier institutions and strategic organisations. As part of the visit, an interaction with faculty was also arranged. The visit provided the delegation with valuable insight into India’s premier space institution and its contributions towards advancing research, innovation, and self-reliance in the space sector.
