The Money Minds Club of IIST, in collaboration with the National Stock Exchange of India (NSE), conducted an investor awareness session titled “A Wise Investor’s Handbook” on September 10, 2025. The session was led by Mr. Joginder Singh, Regulatory Vice President, NSE, and aimed to strengthen participants’ understanding of financial planning, responsible investing, and the functioning of India’s capital markets. The event, inaugurated by Professor Kuruvila Joseph, Pro Vice Chancellor, IIST, was held from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Council Hall and saw participation from over 150 attendees. Key topics covered included the structure of the Indian capital market, SEBI’s regulatory role, goal-based financial planning, diversification, long-term investing, and risk management. Participants also learned about investor protection tools such as SCORES 2.0, Online Dispute Resolution, and fraud-prevention initiatives like  #SEBIvsSCAM. Through discussions and examples, the session emphasized disciplined investing, behavioural biases, and informed decision-making. The program successfully enhanced financial awareness and motivated young investors to approach markets with confidence and caution.
