IIST Virtual Library (IVL)

The library offers remote access facility that enables users to access subscribed e-resources from anywhere at any time.  This service allows users to conveniently browse and download a wide range of e-journals, e-books, and other digital resources using secure authentication methods.

Inter Library Loan

This service helps users to borrow books and other resources from the DoS/ISRO libraries.  Through ILL, users can borrow resources or request copies of documents needed for their study and research. Provision has been given to search the online catalogue of other DoS/ISRO libraries.

Circulation Service

The circulation counter of the library manages membership registration, and the lending and returning of library materials.  It acts as the front desk of the library for users to interact with. Staff at the desk answer queries of users and guide the users to find out the required materials.

Programmes

Library organises programmes such as “Read and Share Programme” and “Book Donation Programme” . These outreach efforts strengthen the library’s role as a hub of inclusion, and community engagement.

NDL Co-ordination

Library is the nodal office from the IIST to enrol students as the member of the National Digital Library.

Writing Assistance Service

The library provides writing assistance by offering access to tools like Grammarly, QuillBot, and Overleaf. Grammarly helps users enhance their grammar, punctuation, and writing clarity, while QuillBot is useful for paraphrasing and improving sentence structure. For students and researchers working on academic papers requiring LaTeX formatting, Overleaf offers a collaborative and efficient writing environment

Documentation Service Alert Services

 Library provides document number to various institute publications and preserved for future reference. 
Users get alerte mails as and when new books or journal issues added into the collection.

Internship Programme
Shodhganga Co-ordination

Shgodhgnanga is the digital repository of PhD theses, maintained by the UGC/INFLIBNET.  IIST Library function as the nodal office for uploading soft copies of theses to the Shodhgange repository.

Institutional Membership

The library has institutional membership in nearby libraries that helps users visit and avail of services of the other libraries.

Book on Call Service

This service is provided for the faculty to save their time. Faculty can make their book requirements over the phone and library staff will make the books available at the front desk when they visit the library.

Resource Awareness Programme (REAP)

Library organises Resource Awareness Programmes on different topics, and also on use of different online tools. By actively promoting awareness of resources and tools,  REAP helps users efficiently locate and utilize information relevant to their study and research. It also encourages effective use of library facilities, and resources.

Author ID Service

This service help users to create their unique Author IDs which further ensures proper attribution of publications, and improves the visibility of their scholarly output. It also facilitates easier tracking of research impact and collaboration opportunities.

Book Exhibitions

Library organises Book Exhibition to showcase latest books in different subject domains.  This aims to encourage reading and understanding the content of new books, potentially leading to acquisitions of the relevant books.

Web OPAC

Lecture Note Publishing

Library support faculty to make the lecture notes available in book form for students. This service enables faculty to publish and distribute their lecture notes in an organised and professional format.  This service includes basic formatting of the content, printing, and binding of the document.

Text Book Bank

The textbook bank consists of basic textbooks for B.Tech students.  The books from this collection, which were developed and updated with the guidance of faculty, will be distributed at the beginning of each semester.  This meets the basic textbook requirements of the students and supports academic programmes by making crucial course materials readily available.

IIST - IRINS

Library has created an instatnce of IRINS to showcase the expertise network and the scholarly output of the institute.

Social Media Management

Library handles the different social media handles of the institute.

Online Payment System

An online payment system is in place for users to make the payment to the library at their convenience

Reference Service

Library has developed a well organised reference collection to support the academic and research needs of users. Through both in-person support and online assistance, the reference service ensures that students, faculty, and researchers can efficiently access accurate and credible information.
