The Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST) is proud to announce that the DROne-MED program, a humanitarian technology initiative focused on medical drone deployment in the Himalayan region, has been awarded the prestigious IEEE MTTS-SIGHT Grant. The research effort led by Prof. Priyadarshan Hari with doctoral fellows Samridh Patial, Gopika Reghunadhan and SSPACE research fellow Yoga Hariharan, is being carried out under the purview of the SSPACE Lab, in collaboration with IEEE MTT-S IIST Student Branch Chapter and IEEE AES S IIST Student Branch Chapter. The initiative brings together interdisciplinary expertise in unmanned aerial systems, communication technologies, and mission planning to address critical challenges in healthcare accessibility in difficult terrain.
