The third Gururatnam Award, instituted by MGM Educational Institutions for Comprehensive contributions to the field of education, were presented to Prof. B.S. Manoj, Professor and Associate Dean, IIST, by Shri. Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar, Honourable Governor of Kerala, at a ceremony held at MGM Residential Public School, Kottarakkara. The award consists of one lakh rupees, a certificate of honour, and a plaque. Shri. K.N. Balagopal, Kerala State Finance Minister; Dr T.P. Sreenivasan, former Ambassador; Dr Cyriac Thomas, former Vice Chancellor of MG University;  Prof. Dr G. Gopakumar, former Vice Chancellor of Kerala Central University; Dr Geevarghese Yohannan, MGM Chairman,  and Shri. A. Jayakumar, former Director of Vijnana Bharati, participated in the event.
