SBAIC and Sports Committee jointly organised an event "Fit India Swachchata Freedom Run 6.0" on 29 October 2025 at 4.30pm as promoted by the Ministry of Youth affairs and Sports. Prof. Kuruvilla Joseph, Pro-VC inaugurated the session from Admin Council Hall. The Fit India Freedom Run started in 2020 by the Ministry of Youth affairs and Sports to mark two days of national importance, namely, Independence Day and Gandhi Jayanti. This Run aims to inculcate the habit of walking and running among all IIST fraternity for better health and fitness considering the importance of cleanliness for healthy lifestyle. This year, the month- long campaign of the Fit India Freedom Run 6.0, with a Unity Run concluding on 31st October, 2025 commemorating the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The sixth edition of the Fit India Freedom Run is organized nation wide with the theme of Swachchhta and Swasthya (cleanliness and health), spreading the awareness about the cleanliness as well as promoting physical fitness. The Run event at IIST was conducted on 29 October, 2025 starting at 4.30pm from Admin Council Hall via entrance Circle, ID block, Science block, Kiosk, Aerospace block ending Council Hall. Regardless of the age group and working class, all the members of IIST participated in this national event to build a fitter and cleaner tomorrow.
