The Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST) was proud to serve as the Academic Host Institute for IEEE MAPCON 2025, marking a significant milestone in the institute’s continued engagement with the global microwave, antenna, and propagation research community. The conference provided an excellent platform for academic–industry interaction, and IIST had a strong and visible presence throughout the event. Prof. Chinmoy Saha, Department of Avionics was involved as the general chair of the conference. Prof. Dipankar Banerjee, Vice Chancellor IIST, Prof. Kuruvilla Joseph ,Pro VC IIST and Prof. BS Manoj were involved as Patron, Advisor and Finance Chair of the conference. MAPCON 2025, attended by 1600 participants from 45 different countries, was inaugurated by Dr. V. Narayanan, Chairman ISRO & Secretary DoS, GoI as Chief guest and Dr. BK Das, Director General ECS, DRDO, GoI in presence of Dr. Goutam Chattopadhyay, president of IEEE MTT-S and Prof. Christophe Fumeaux, president of IEEE AP-S. Prof. Priyadarshan H. organized a half day workshop on SSPACE activities of IIST. IIST’s exhibition reflected the depth and diversity of research being carried out across the institute. The showcased efforts highlighted cutting-edge developments in antennas, microwave and RF systems, satellite technologies, unmanned aerial systems, and experimental rocketry, underscoring IIST’s integrated approach to space and aerospace research. The exhibits attracted keen interest from researchers, industry professionals, and international delegates, leading to meaningful technical discussions and collaborative exchanges. Hosting IEEE MAPCON 2025 further reinforced IIST’s role as a leading academic institution contributing to advances in space science, communication systems, and aerospace engineering, while fostering innovation-driven research aligned with national and global priorities.
