As part of Hindi Fortnight Celebrations, every year Hindi Software Training Programme is organized in the Institute for the Employees of Technical and Administrative areas. In this programme various types of software and different E - Tools used for doing work in Hindi is discussed. DOL instructed all Central Govt. Offices/undertakings/Banks etc. to use Unicode supported fonts only, for working in Hindi vide OMNo.12015/7/2008 OL(TC) dtd.16/01/2009. All the recent versions of the operating system already have inbuilt capability for facilitating Unicode encoding for working in Hindi along with English. Employees are imparted training to activate Unicode in their system. They also practice the Inscript Keyboard. The Inscript keyboard is a standard layout for Indian languages, making it easy to type in various Indic scripts according to the Department of Official Language.
