Hindi Section, IIST is created with a view to accelerate the use of official language in the official work and to increase the awareness of the employees towards the Official Language Policy of the union. Apart from the translation work Hindi Section is entrusted with the task of implementation of the Official Language Act and Rules made thereunder and to perform the activities defined in the Annual programme of Dept. Of Official Language, Ministry of Home Affairs. The section is totally dedicated to extend all logistic support to Administrative Head, Senior officials and employees with regard to implementation of Official Language policy of the Government of India.
Implementation of Official Language Hindi
Official Language Policy of the Union is to be implemented in all Central Government Offices. With the formation of Hindi Section in IIST , Hindi Posts were created and the work related to Hindi implementation started.
Initially, Implementation of Hindi started with the translation of name boards, Rubber Stamps and Stationery items. Over a period of time, Hindi implementation gained momentum and use of Official Language got reflected in Official work. Today, all the Circulars, Office Orders, Tenders, Advertisements etc are being issued from the Institute in bilingual form. Translation of Standard Drafts are being done continuously. Course record, Record of Degrees conferred, Provisional Certificates, Degree Certificates and all other certificates such as certificate of participation/ certificate of merit etc., are being prepared, printed and issued in bilingual form. Institute booklet and annual reports are being printed in Hindi. Identity cards, name boards, Standard forms, Seals and Rubber Stamps used in administrative and other departments are prepared in bilingual form.
